Fauci Said That The Spread Of Coronavirus Is His Worst Nightmare
Dr. Anthony Fauci said that the novel coronavirus had “turned out to be my worst nightmare”. The US states and have moved forward with reopening even before their coronavirus outbreaks are under control, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the US’s top infectious-disease expert, has warned that the novel virus is his “worst nightmare” come true and “isn’t over.” He also opinioned that as the SARS epidemic did in 2014, so a vaccine would be needed.

“I will guarantee there is going to be more than one winner in the vaccine field because we are going to need vaccines for the entire world. Billions and billions of doses,” he said in a pharmaceutical industry conference on Tuesday. Dr. Anthony Fauci is the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. He also warned that the coronavirus pandemic is far from over.
Need a Vaccine to Save the Entire world
“In a period of 4 months, it has devastated the world. I mean, 110,000 deaths in the United States, deaths and millions and millions of infections worldwide and it isn’t over yet. The most surprising thing to him about SARS-CoV-2 is its speed. First noticed at the end of December. Hit China in January. Hit the rest of the world in February. March, April, May, early June. All of a sudden, historically, we have one of the worst pandemics we’ve ever experienced,” Fauci said.
The virus has already infected 7 million people and killed more than 400,000 globally. The pandemic has plunged the whole world into unprecedented lockdown and shutdown which froze the global economy.
Dr. Anthony Fauci warned President Donald Trump’s efforts to push a quicker reopening of the U.S. economy. Already there are signs of a jump in coronavirus cases in some southern and western states that relaxed their lockdown measures last month.
Previously, Fauci has warned that ending lockdowns too early could lead to uncontrollable outbreaks. He was very impressed by how the biotech and pharmaceutical industries have come together over the past few months to develop potential therapies and candidate vaccines against the virus.
“I thought that HIV was a complicated disease. It’s really simple compared to what’s going on with COVID-19,” Fauci, who spent much of his career fighting HIV, said.
He also noted that 25% to 40% of people who were infected by the coronavirus is not developing any symptoms. This makes the mission really complicated. The virus which is jumped from an animal to humans was easily transmissible through breathing and had a high death rate. The virus has extraordinary travel capability and that’s why the virus spread quickly from Wuhan to the rest of China and across the world.
The American health care system was in danger in March and April, Fauci said that he was getting only about three hours of sleep every night. “This is not anything new. I chose this life and it’s nobody’s fault but my own that I’m under this pressure. Part of it is exhausting, but part of it is exciting and stimulating because you know that you’re dealing with something that really means something.
This is not trivial at all,” he said. Dr. Fauci also commented about the price control the coronavirus vaccine is going to deal with. He added that the vaccine should be priced such that people who need it can access it.
