Fauci Warned Trump’s Plans To Return To The Campaign Trail

Dr. Anthony Fauci warned that attending rallies and protests is risky while the threat of pandemic persists. Fauci is the nation’s top infectious disease expert. President Donald Trump already declared that he would return to the campaign trail beginning next week. But Dr. Anthony Fauci expressed his concern for people attending those campaigns.

Fauci is the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. He also says that his advice for people who want to attend President Donald Trump’s campaign rallies is the same for those protesting the president’s policies, warning that any large group setting is a danger and risky during the coronavirus pandemic.

Mass protests were conducted across the country touched off by the death of George Floyd, a black man who died after a white Minnesota police officer knelt on his neck for nearly nine minutes.

Fauci said that “You know, it’s a danger to the people who are trying to control the demonstration. And it’s a danger to the people who are demonstrating. So at the end of the day, it is a risky procedure.” 

Avoid Congregating in Large Groups

Fauci said that he understands the urge people have to participate in the political process but that the safest bet is to avoid congregating in large groups.

When asked about his opinion about Trump’s plans to resume campaign rallies next week, Fauci said that “His advice to that too and I am consistent. I stick by what I say.” He is also a member of the White House coronavirus task force.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has updated the guidelines on limiting the spread of COVID-19, adding that the safest practice is to avoid crowded places, to wear a mask whenever you’re outside. And if you can do both, avoid the congregation of people and do the mask, that’s great.

Next Friday, in Tulsa, Oklahoma The president decided to resume his signature campaign rallies. Fauci commented as a result of Trump’s decision to downplay the threat of a resurgence of the virus as states begin loosening restrictions put in place in March to stem the spread COVID-19. The party decided to provide a free sign-up page for tickets to the Tulsa rally and have discussed providing hand sanitizer and masks at the arena, which holds about 19,000 people.

Oklahoma is a state in the USA were the coronavirus vases dropped in May. but the cases reported over the past two weeks were very high and experts say that this is due to the reopening of the state. After the uplifting of restrictions on economic activities, different states in the United States was bound to see increased infections.

More than 114,000 people have died from COVID-19 in the United States and about half a dozen U.S. states are grappling with a rising number of coronavirus patients filling hospital beds. The increased hospitalizations are a sign of the situation where the state is going in the wrong direction.

Even though Texas and North Carolina reported their highest hospitalization rates since the pandemic began on Friday, the government doesn’t take any actions to prevent social spreading. Officials reported that both the states have among the lowest rates of deaths from COVID-19.
